When Mrs. Dikshit took over the reins of Delhi, she promised that she would transform Delhi into Paris. Yes, the same old romantic Paris. Most of us were never been to Paris, but knew that somewhere in the world there exist a picturesque city to live in called Paris. Everyone started to paint a picture of their own of Paris in their heart.
Slowly, the developmental works started, flyovers were built throughout the city. Delhi’s very own killer ‘Blue Line’ was slowly replaced with modern, ultra day low-rise buses. Metro is spreading its wings to the maximum possible extent that too in the fastest possible time span with limited casualties. The city is in a festive mood, full of joy and happiness. We were very happy, and were slowly witnessing the transformation of our very own Delhi to Paris. There were some hiccups though, but who cares. We are not bothered with the routine molestation and rapes, after all development does take its toll. Last year, when a lady journalist was murdered in her way to home from office, you said that women should take care of themselves and plan their daily schedule accordingly. But, Mrs. Chief Minister is this what Paris looks like?
But who cares, flyovers are still being built; ‘thanda-thanda’ metros are replacing sweaty buses.
Last week, seven girls of a government school were stamped to death in their school. Initially the rumour was, that there was some short circuit in the school because of which there occurred this accident. Sad, very sad.
You ordered a compensation of 1Lakh to each of the girl’s family, instantly. Does the same happen to Paris, Madam, when something of this magnitude takes place? I would be eager to know.
As all of us were coping with the incident, the next day came the shocking news. Yes, it was really devastating. The stamped was not due to some short-circuit, but the girls were chased to death. Yes, you read correct. The boys of the same school, tried to misbehave with the girls, assaulted them. The girls got panicked and in order to protect themselves, ran for cover. But the boys chased them, and chased them to death.
The people are not only shocked, but much more. We are wondering, if this is what Paris is, then we don’t want our Delhi to be Paris. We want our Delhi back. We don’t mind, congestion in the traffic, sweaty buses.
We still have not heard anything from you Mrs. Chief Minister after that, but we are eager to know, exactly ‘Where are we Heading Towards’????
