15, AND STILL COUNTING

15, AND STILL COUNTING

As such I am not a tennis freak, but not an alien to the sport too.
And from my early days, I don’t remember any player dominating the court with such authority. In fact except a few, no player has ever dominated any sport for such a long period, in this manner. But then its Roger Maestro Federer. The king of modern tennis. And the best thing for Roger is his constant introspection about his game. Already an icon in the world of tennis, he still does his homework in the same manner like a youngster. This kind of an attitude is really unbelievable, and I salute him from the deep core of my heart. He is a real legend.
When I was a kid, Pete Sampras used to be my favorite. The thing, which I liked most about Pete, is his cool and calm attitude. This guy is certainly a notch above in this parameter. The sudden emotional outbursts of Roger just prove that he is not someone from the space, but one of us only.
In fact in the epic final against Andy Roddick, I was astonished to find his grit and determination and the hunger for more. This was certainly a welcome gift for his expected wife Mirka, who is a real support for him throughout. In fact, the way she sat for the whole odd four hours in her 8th month of pregnancy, it seems she has already started giving their baby the first few lessons of lawn tennis.
Not only this, in fact Roger has promised his wife to play for few more years so that their child can watch him play. The grass court of Wimbeldon, will be waiting for another Federer to raise the mercury level in near future, till then we can enjoy some astounding tennis from the maestro himself.
